Obituary of Jesse Lucille Slatton

Lucille "Lucy" Slatton, 102 of Whitwell, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025. She was a member of Whitwell Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 80 years. She also was a hair dresser for 74 years and in that time owned and operated Lucy's Beauty Shop in Whitwell. Lucy was a member of the Eastern Star and American Business Woman's Association. Her favorite things to do were traveling, painting, and crafts. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Slatton (Chuck); parents, Albert and Irene Dykes; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Emily Sue Caldwell and Mary Ann Davis; special nephew, Robbie Dykes; brother, Roberts (Mary) Dykes; sisters, June Lockhart and Gail (Jerry) Lockhart; grandchildren, Crystal Caldwell, Keith (Sydney) Davis, Elizabeth (Matt) Leenerts; great grandchildren, Dorian and Nora Deffaratti, Ben and Shelby Davis, Reagan and Grant Leenerts; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday January 16, 2025 at 1pm CST in the chapel with Phillip Layne Officiating. Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 15,2025 from 3pm to 8pm and Thursday, January 16,2025 from 11am to 2pm.
