David B. Barker Sr., age 86, of Dunlap TN., passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at his home.
He was a member of Dunlap United Methodist Church. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. David was a retired educator of 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Barker; mother, Emma Lee Barker; grandparents, Dr. John and Emma Baker; sister, Ramah Mosier; grandson, Matthew Henry.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, JoAnn Johnson Barker; son, David (Rochelle) Barker; daughter, Beverly (Mark) Henry; sister, Sue (Cecil) Lee; brother, Johnny (Charlotte) Barker; grandchildren, Corey (Shonda) Barker, Katie (Kyle) Henry, Ashton (Will) Clayton, Kristen (Daniel) Herod, Jordan (Paige) Henry, Abbie (Jackson) Fleming, and Eli Henry; great grandchildren, Addison, Cambree, Myles, Gunner, Cadence, Lucy, Delanie, Raelyn, Clyde, Lennox, Lynden, Simon, Wesley, and Hollis.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024,1:00 pm (CST) in the funeral home chapel with Kimberly Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Rd, Dunlap, TN. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 19, 2024, 2:00-8:00 pm (CST).
