Doris "Lucy" McDaniel Whitmire, age 80, of Dunlap, TN passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, El Whitmire; son, David Lee; parents, Claude and Bertha McDaniel; sisters, Mary Richardson and Deborah Sanders; brothers, Raymond and wife Vinnie McDaniel, Claude McDaniel, James Waymon and wife Diane McDaniel.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Sam) Kennedy, Dunlap, Shelia (Wayne) Amet and Doris Lee, Westfield IN; grandchildren, Misty (Leonard) Johnson, Joe (April) Shell, April (Charlie) Shell, all of Dunlap; great-grandchildren, Tearsa (Daniel) Dent, Jonathan (Shelby) Sims, Raven (David) Shell, Ethan (Hayven) Johnson, Peyton Shell, Antonio Shell and Gracie Johnson all of Dunlap, great-great-grandson, Bryson Dent; sister, Charlotte (Clifford) Dishman of Dunlap; brother, Jerry McDaniel of Whitwell. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 23 at 12:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Kevin Benoit officiating. Burial will be in Thans Chapel Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, TN. Family will receive friends Thursday 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT.
