Layton Smith, age 68, of Pikeville, TN, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024 He was a member of Mt. Crest Church of God of Prophecy. He was retired from the City of Spencer. Layton was an avid antique car enthusiast, and also enjoyed sports, playing rook, painting and scrapping. Everywhere he went he witnessed for the Lord. Preceding him in death were his wife, Kay Smith; parents, Farrel and Ethelene Smith; and niece Amber Goforth. Surviving him are his son, Morgan Smith of Cleveland, TN; siblings, Debbie (Paul) Goforth, Cathy (Steve) Standefer and Clayton (Laura) Smith, all of Pikeville, TN; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Anthony Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Will Smith Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT and Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. CDT. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Crest Church of God of Prophecy, 200 Watts Ln, Pikeville, TN 37367.
