Johnny Burch, age 88, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at NHC Healthcare. He loved his family and friends, never met a stranger, and was always joking. Johnny worked in law enforcement as a deputy for the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department and for the Tennessee Meth Task Force. He farmed most of his life and loved training dogs. He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Emma Jane Brock; parents, John and Celia Burch; uncle, Ed Burch; sisters, Justine Ewton and Louise Grant; brother, James Burch. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Claudine Burch; daughter, Sherry Brock and son, Paul (Pansy) Burch; both of Dunlap; four grandchildren, Olivia Borgers, Michelle Akins, Garrett Brock and Haley Knox; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18 at 12:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network or Sequatchie County Senior Citizens Center, PO Box 2351, Dunlap, TN 37327. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Rd, Dunlap, TN. Family will receive friends Wednesday, 12:00-8:00 p.m. CDT.
