Obituary of James Howard Brown

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our dad, James Howard Brown. He passed away March 23, 2024, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family. James was 78, born in Pikeville, TN. He lived most of his life in Dayton, TN, where he was a mechanic and business owner of a full-service gas station for many years. He was a car enthusiast who loved to drag race. He enjoyed watching Nascar and attending dirt track racing. He had a mischievous personality and was a real jokester. Poppy James loved his family, especially his grandkids. James was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Geneva Brown; brother, Bobby Brown, and sister; Joyce Nichols, all of Pikeville, TN. James is survived by his daughters, Lorri (Mike) James and Cindy (Rick) Romines, both of Dayton, TN; three grandchildren, Candice (Douglas) Graham, Mackenley Romines and Brieana James; five great-granddaughters, Peytan, Keira, Blakeli and Anistyn Graham and Mari-Mellow Romines; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Douglas Graham, III officiating. Burial will be in Seals Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT and Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. CDT.
