Rufus Johnson, age 78, of Dunlap, TN passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Hospice Care Center. He was of the church of Christ faith. Rufus served as a board member of BTC Fiber, served as a trustee of the Johnson-Lewis Cemetery, and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Herron Johnson; parents, Wade and Callie Johnson; sister, Wanda Rae Johnson. He is survived by two sons, Lamar (Vivian) Johnson and Michael Johnson, both of Dunlap; five grandchildren, Brandon (Amy) Johnson, Michaela (Paul) Campbell, Macy Johnson, Caleb and Logan Johnson; great-grandson, Elliott Johnson and one on the way; two sisters, Claudine (Johnny) Burch, of Dunlap and Effie Lasater, of Red Bank; brother, Sonny (Sharon) Johnson, East Brainerd; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mike Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Johnson-Lewis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, TN. Family will receive friends Sunday 2:00-8:00 p.m. CST.
