Thomas Edward Rector, age 83, of Dunlap, TN passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at NHC Healthcare. He was a simple man who had a love of electronics, computers, and genealogy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Narramore Rector; parents, John and Edith Rector; sister, Barbara Jane Snyder.
He is survived by his two daughters, Reba Sanders, Dunlap and April (Todd) Thurman, Dayton; grandchildren, Hayley Thurman, Chattanooga, Garrett (Danielle) Thurman, Lexington, Park MD, Kate Sanders, Nashville; great-granchildren, Kennedy and Lincoln Thurman; sister, Juanita Owensby; brother, Johnny (Cheryl) Rector, Dayton; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank both NHC Healthcare staff for their loving care and kindness and Caris Hospice.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in his memory to Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. No Visitation.
