Obituary of Anna Margaret Stephens

Anna Margaret (Ferguson) Stephens of Pikeville, TN passed on to Heaven on January 4th, 2024. Margaret attended Tennessee Technical Institute where she met her husband, Mark. She graduated in 1954 and married Mark in 1955. The two remained active alumni and donors to their alma mater. Margaret was active in caring for her beloved family and community during her life. She was an active member of: Pikeville Garden Club, Pikeville United Methodist Church & Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. Margaret is remembered fondly by her students in the Bledsoe Co school system from over 35 years of service. An avid gardener, she enjoyed entering flowers and food items in the Bledsoe County Fair and accumulated an impressive collection of ribbons for her efforts. With a passion for music, her singing always filled her home. She was preceded in death by parents, Martha (Harmon) Ferguson and Harry Ferguson of Oakdale, TN; loving husband of 63 years, Mark Lloyd Stephens; sisters, Stella (Larry) Lippert, Dorothy (Oney) Fugate, Catherine (Dave) Mount & Mary Edna (Neal) Thompson; brothers, Harry Ferguson, John Ferguson, Thomas Ferguson, Robert Ferguson & James Ferguson. She is survived by son Hal Mark Stephens; grandchildren, Stephanie Ann (Stephens) Grubbs; great grandsons, Jackson and Parker Grubbs, Anthony James Stephens, Andrew Mark Stephens; and many nephews and nieces. Services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. CST at Pikeville United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Smart officiating. Burial will be in Pikeville Cemetery.
