Joyce Mears, age 84, of Pikeville, TN, died Monday, December 25, 2023.
She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. She was a caregiver, hard worker, homemaker and nanny.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mears, Sr.; son, Rufus Lynn Mears; mother, Wilma Fridell Harden; and sister, Janet Walker.
She is survived by her son, Eddie (Donna) Mears of Pikeville, TN; grandchildren, Finn Cillin Shae O'Meara, Justin Ray Mears, Shani Kendrick, Matt Brown, Sierra Mears and Ayden Mears; great-grandchildren, Kadience and Zander Edge; sisters, Cloie D. Issacson of Signal Mountain, TN, Lilly (Beecher Greer) Moody of GA, Debbie Barker of PA and Mary Evelyn (Randy) Porter of Dalton, GA; brother, Albert Harden, Jr. of Dunlap, TN; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2023 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. CST.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made toward the funeral expenses.
