Jim Denney, age 92, of Pikeville, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at his home.
Jim served as a Deacon at Sequatchie Valley Church of Christ. He was retired from N.C. & St. L Railroad and the Tennessee Department of Corrections. He was also the owner of Pikeville Flower Shop for many years and worked at Putnam-Reed Funeral Home for over 50 years. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Lee Smith Denney; mother, Elizabeth Wheeler Denney; grandson, Jonah Denney; and daughter-in-law, Gail Denney.
Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Foye Lee Denney; sons, Terry Denney and Steven (Trish) Denney; grandchildren, David (Hannah) Denney, Jacob (Pamela) Denney, Isaac (Jacoba) Denney, Jessica Denney Coleman and Elizabeth (Brian) Turner; and great-grandchildren, Dave, Maddie, Elyssa, Hayleigh, Zachary, Emerie, Addison, Aubrey, Tinley and Piper.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Seals Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. The family will receive friends, Friday, December 8, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bledsoe County Cancer Care Team.
