Richard "Rick" Wooden, age 70, of Pikeville, TN, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in the comfort of his home.
He was a true genuine mountain man. He was kind, loving and one of a kind. He was a great storyteller and entertained everyone. He was a life long farmer. He was a master wood worker. His strength was inspiring.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Zola Wooden; brothers, Terry and Roger Wooden; two sisters; nephew, Luke Lee; and several other nieces and nephews.
He is survived by the love of his life, Susan Adkisson of Pikeville, TN; daughter, Tonya (Stacy) Turner of Pikeville; several bonus children and grandchildren; siblings, Bernice (Frank) Anderson of Kentucky, Margaret (Dwight) Lewis of Dunlap, TN, Kathy (Monte) Lee of Pikeville, TN, Joyce (Carson) Camp of Dunlap, TN, Teresa (Jay) Minnick of Greenville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 12:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. CDT.
