After over 101 years on this earth, Nola Marie White Layne was called to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Born on March 5, 1922, to James Roy and Icy Beulah Hudson White, Nola was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert H Layne; daughter, Jill Annette Layne Nunley; twin sister, Ola Lee "Bay" White Turner; sisters, Beulah Mae White Hackworth, Kitty E White Perruso; brothers, Kay White, William David White, Joel White, Hollis Burton White, James Chester "Jimmy" White; two great grand-daughters, Beth Ann Brown and Tiffany Sharee Nunley; four sons-in-law, Junior Thomas, Fairlie Nunley, Ray Long, Don Magouirk. Left to cherish the memories of her life are five daughters, Madonna Thomas, Brenda (David) Long, Doris Magouirk, Peggy Long, Joy (Wayne) Richards; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins; a multitude of friends, community, and church family members. In years past, Nola taught the Ladies' Bible Class at Green's Chapel Church in the Pocket Community for about 44 years. She was the oldest member and began attending with her mother-in-law, Dora Presnell Layne in the 1940s. Services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 1pm CT in the chapel with Brother Terry Winton and Pastor Robert Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Hwy 28 Whitwell, TN. Visitation will be August 18, 2023, from 3 to 8 CT
