C.D. Pursley, age 80, of Pikeville, TN, died Thursday, June 15, 2023.
He was of the Church of Christ faith. He was an Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a member of St. Elmo Lodge #437 F & AM, a member of the Dunlap Lodge #693 F & AM, a member of the Alhambra Shrine, a member of the Farm Bureau Board, a member of the VFW, a member of the American Legion; and a member of the Trailrider’s Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oval and Velma Pursley; and sister, Margaret Green.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Frances Knight Pursley; brothers, Jerry Pursley, Pikeville, TN and Arvil (Kathy) Pursley, Signal Mountain, TN; special aunt, Bobbie Hixson; and special friend, Carolyn Oakes; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. T.A. Smith and Bro. Bobby Collier officiating. Burial will be in Collier Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT and Monday, June 19, 2023 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. CDT.
