Landon Cox, age 90, of Pikeville, TN, died at his home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
He was a member of Summer City Church of God where he laid the foundation. He was a very godly man and to know him was to love him. You could always find him whistling. He loved his wife and family and drove a truck to support those he loved. Landon was an army veteran in the Korean War from 1951-1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Minnie Ellen Cox; three sisters, Cleo Cox, Maymie Reed and Evelyn Bell; and two brothers, Otis and Luther Cox.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth Cox, of Pikeville; daughters, Sheila (Freddie) Marler of Dayton, TN, Janice (Jackie) Marler of Evensville, TN and Frances (Tony) Skiles of Pikeville, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Iles, Jonathan Skiles, Buffy Brady, Heather Layman and Beth Brown; great-grandchildren, Dylan Brady, Tyler Layman, Hailey Layman, Gavin Iles, Grayson Iles, Rylee Brown, Logan Brady and Abby Brady; nephew, Randell (Betty) Reed; and niece, Faye (Randall) McReynolds.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Freddie Marler officiating. Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. CDT.
