Danny Ray King, 72 of Whitwell passed away October 8, 2022 at his home. He was a member of Whitwell Baptist Church and a Veteran of the United States Army. He loved family time and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Carolyn Jean Layne; mother, Lillian Virginia King; father, Jesse Holther King; sister, Brenda Joyce Farr; granddaughter, Winter Rae Odom; brother, Jessie Marvin King; nephew, Jacob Troy King.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Angela (Clinton) Odom of McMinnville and Heather (Rick) Watkins of Sparta; son, Daniel (Tina) King of Sparta; granddaughters, Ashley (Brenton) Hickerson of Spencer, Elizabeth Watkins of Sparta, Abigail Watkins of Sparta; grandson, Montana Odom stationed in Hawaii; brother, David (Iona) King of McMinnville; great grandsons, Brantley and Ashton Hickerson of Spencer, River Lee Turner of McMinnville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 11, 2022 at 1pm CST in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Whitwell Memorial. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Hwy 28, Whitwell, TN. Visitation will be held Monday October 10, 2022 5pm to 8pm CST and Tuesday October 11, 2022 11am to 1pm.
