Johnny Allen Porter, age 85, of Pikeville, TN, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Johnny was born June 30, 1936 in Fayette, AL, to Dow and May Porter, and was the youngest of 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. He was married to Glenda Montgomery Porter for many years. Johnny worked for DA&S Well Service in New Mexico and Texas until he retired. He then moved to Pikeville, TN, where he and Glenda built a home. They loved the country and great friends and neighbors they had met over the years. He loved working outside on his place and riding around with Glenda and their dog looking at the beautiful Tennessee countryside. He also loved watching Alabama, UT, Cowboys and TN Titans football. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda “Nancy” Montgomery Porter. He is survived by his step-daughter, Donna Worsham; step-grandson, Chris Worsham; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Pikeville Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT.
