Mary Katherine Shirley, age 88, of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Whitwell, TN died Thursday, April 14, 2022.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Whitwell. She also attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Shirley; parents, Paul and Anna Mae Guthrie; brothers, Robert, Lew and Charlie Guthrie; and sister, Anna Laura Parker.
She is survived by her children, Joe (Teresa) Shirley of Smyrna, TN and Anne (Sean) Gilliland of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Beth and Andrew Shirley and Molly Gilliland; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. CDT at Red Hill Cemetery with Dr. Jim Clardy officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Hwy 28, Whitwell, TN. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Children's Holocaust Museum. Please mail to Whitwell Middle School, 1 Butterfly Lane, Whitwell, TN 37397 with Children's Holocaust Memorial in the memo line.
