David L. Phillips, age 57, of Jonesborough, TN, formerly of Dunlap, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Franklin Wood Community Hospital. In the professional world David was a member of CEN (Chief Executive Network). He was also a black belt in Lean Six Sigma. He was at one time a board member at Urbana University in Urbana Ohio and President of Warehouse Education Research Counsel for Tennessee. He was a member of Whitwell Church of God, active in the Praise Band in the church where he was attending, loved to do magic tricks and make people laugh.He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Phillips and Rosetta Kerley Douglas; grandparents, Glen and Ailene Kerley.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Phillips; two daughters, Mallory (Mike) Fielden, Chattanooga, and Molly (Jarrod) Dixon, Jonesborough; three grandsons, Dane Dixon, Weston Fielden, and Lincoln Dixon; brother, Marvin (Melissa) Phillips, Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15 at 10:30 a.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Michael Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Sequatchie Memorial Gardens Community Cemetery.
