Hershel Lavon Britt, age 75, of the Brayton Community, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021. He was born on August 11, 1946. He was a long time employee of Suburban Manufacturing for 22 years. He also worked as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Dayton, TN, for several years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Britt; and his mother, Eva Mae Britt.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Britt, of Graysville, TN; daughter, Karen Kilgore (Toby Velasco) of Dayton, TN; grandson, James (Tonya) Kilgore of Graysville, TN; granddaughter, Kimberly (BJ) Evans of Spencer, TN; three great-grandsons, Levi and Elijah Kilgore of Graysville, TN and Logan Evans of Spencer, TN; three great-granddaughters, Chelsea Kilgore of Graysville, TN and Olivia and Brooke Evans of Spencer, TN; brothers, T.C. Britt of Pikeville, TN and Lyndal (Judy) Britt of Senora, KY; sisters, Dora Childress of Dunlap, TN and Carolyn (Patrick) Roberson of Pikeville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and extended long term family Rocky (Cathy) Guerra of Pikeville, TN and his dialysis family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve James officiating. Burial will be in New Family Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT and Friday, November 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. CDT.
