Willard Ray Miller, age 89, of Pikeville, TN, born on December 18, 1931, died at home on Monday, October 4, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family.
Willard served in the Army during the Korean War. He was of the Church of God faith.
He touched many lives during his various careers: he managed two grocery stores, drove a school bus for Bledsoe County Schools and was a TDOT supervisor for Bledsoe County. He was a hardworking and loving man. He loved his family unconditionally and would do anything to help a friend in need.
He was an avid farmer. He tended many different types of animals over the years, but cattle and poultry held a special place in his heart. He would be awake and out on the farm before dawn to make sure that the chickens were fed; most mornings, before he had even had breakfast himself. One of his favorite tasks on the farm was raking hay.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann; father, Dallas; mother, Mary Jane; brothers, W.K. and Johnny Allen; and sister, Shelby Jean.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Lou Miller; son, Steve (Janet) Miller; granddaughter, Stefanie Miller (Jimmy Boggs); grandson, Wes (Chelsea) Miller; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Boggs, Aiden Boggs, Lane and Barrett Miller; brother, Wayne Miller; and sisters, Viva Paige, Wanda Moody and Irene Higgins.
