Melvin Randall Childress, age 56, of Dunlap, TN, passed away June 25, 2021 at his home. He was a member of Bethel church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Polly Childress.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Reba Childress; daughter, Amy (Brandon) Johnson; grandson, Elliott Johnson; sisters, Clata (William) Rigsby, and Connie (Tony) Cook; brother, Jerry Childress; nephews, Anthony and Terry Cook, Brent Childress and Zackery Childress; He had a lot of love for his church family and fire department friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 28 at 2:00 pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with T.A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Collier Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, TN. Family will receive friends Sunday, 3:00-8:00 pm CDT.
