Philip A. Hixson, age 91, of Dunlap, Tn, passed away May 28, 2021 at his home. He was a member of the Ewtonville Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was a life long farmer and a veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudelle Hixson; son, John Hixson; sister, Betty Jean Pearce
He is survived by his daughter, Dixie (Steve) Hedrick, Sparta; granddaughter, Sarah Hedrick, Sparta; sister, Margaret Ann Fairchild, Hixson; several nieces and nephews; special care givers, Landi Hood and Karen Knott.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. CDT, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Brian Kearns officiating. Burial will be in Sequatchie Memorial Community Gardens. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, TN. Family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-6:00 pm CDT.
