Obituary of Joyce Carole Howard

Joyce Cox Howard, age 73, of Crossville, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Wyndridge Care Facility with her daughter, Lisa, by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Howard; parents, Luther and Essie Cox; infant sister, Peggy Lee Crawford; and brother, Billy Earl Cox. She is survived by her daughters, Joy Sapp and Lisa Campbell; grandchildren, Jordan Farmer, Billy, Ben (Becca), Bob and Braiden Sapp; great-grandchildren, Baylor and Edith Sapp, all of Crossville, TN. Joyce was born and raised in Pikeville. As a child, she attended Wesley’s Chapel Church with her family. As a young woman, she made her home in Chattanooga with her husband, Wendell J. Farmer. They had two daughters, Joy and Lisa. Joyce attended Jay Roger’s School of Cosmetology while living there. After moving back to Pikeville, she began a career in manufacturing at Sunbeam-Oster Corporation in Dayton, TN. From assembly line to management, she worked there until it closed in 1988. Joyce then worked at Alpha Equipment Co. in Crossville. She then went on to retire in 2014 from the Dana Corporation. Joyce was also a partner with her husband, Ron Howard, in Enterprise Systems. Joyce was loved and respected by her family and friends. She leave a legacy of hard work and dedication and will be dearly missed. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.
