Obituary of Bill Green

Willie Earl Green (Bill), 87, of Whitwell, TN, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Susie Jacks. Bill was born to Arthur and Icee Green, of Whitwell, TN, on August 12, 1932. He married Shirley Turner Green, the love of his life, in 1960. Shirley preceded Bill in death. Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Green. Bill is survived by 5 children: Teresa Simmons, of Chattanooga, TN, Donna Green, of Harrison, TN, Susie Jacks, of Harrison, TN, Jan Hackworth, of Whitwell, TN, and Alan Green, of Whitwell, TN. Sister, Lenore Worley. He had 5 grandchildren: Tara Simmons-Ealy, Ashley Kilgore, Noah Hackworth, Emily Green, and Travis Green, and one great grandson, Christian Ealy. Bill was a lifelong member of Green’s Chapel United Methodist Church of Whitwell, TN. He was an avid fisherman and loved God’s great outdoors. Bill was a very kind and gentle soul, and will be missed greatly by his family. A graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 5:00 P.M.
