Obituary of Anna Ruth Heard

Anna Ruth Heard, age 87, of Dunlap, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2020, after a brief illness. Anna Ruth was born in San Diego, California. She settled with her family in Dunlap when she was a young girl. She worked for the Sequatchie Valley Electric Coop and for Bledsoe Telephone Coop until her retirement after 24 years of service. She was an active member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Sunday School class, sang in the choir and served on numerous committees. For many years after her retirement, Anna Ruth volunteered for the local Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed baking and planning meals for her family, gardening, and reading. Anna Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Heard; her mother, Lula Mae Godsey Creasman; her father, Jeff Catron Creasman; brother, James Creasman; and grandson, Chad Lockhart. She is survived by her children; Lisa (Philip) Johnson, LeRoy (Tina) Heard, and Laura (Steve) Lockhart. Her grandchildren are Ashley (Matt) Overley, Laura (Allen) Jones, Heather (Caleb) Lockhart, Kenzie (Eli) Stout, and Brady Heard. Anna Ruth was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard Rhea officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.
