Dennis "Pie" Atterton, age 69, of Whitwell, TN, died Friday, March 6, 2020 at Erlanger Medical Center. He retired from Chattanooga Boiler and Tank, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Thomas Atterton; mother, Myrtle Saylors; stepmother, Doris Kelly Atterton; and brother, Michael McGowan.
He is survived by his son, Jody (Kelly) Atterton, Chattanooga; daughter, Cassie Powell, Whitwell; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Debbie (Ray) Bunn, Dayton, Doris (Gene) Bradford, Dunlap; brothers, Daniel (Gloria) Atterton, Whitwell, Jackie McGowan, Whitwell, Kelly (Kathy) Cox, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be on March 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery. Arrangement by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Highway 28, Whitwell, TN. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
