Obituary of Harold Dean Stockwell

Harold “Dean” Stockwell passed away Sunday 2/23/2020. He was a long time resident of Burnet County Texas and a recent resident of Chattanooga, Tn. He will be buried in Grundy County Tn, the place of his birth.
Dean’s niece, Morgan Pursley wrote this to describe her uncle, “Dean was a light, wherever he went. Whether you met him once, and never again, you knew, that there was something in him. A brightness that others could only pray for. He walked on Earth with a spring in his step. He cared for everyone.”
Dean accepted Jesus as his Savior many years ago. We, his family, would not be able to face this heart breaking loss without the “peace that transcends all understanding” that we each personally have from our own relationship with God. The 100% assurance that Dean is in Heaven for eternity and that we will be with him one day for eternity will carry us through our journey of grief.
Dean was preceded in death by his Father Harold Edward Stockwell of Dunlap, Tn. Most recently by his Grandfather Wallace Ed “Opa” Williams of Fargo, North Dakota. His Grandmother Melva Williams of San Antonio, Tx. Grandparents Jerry and Irene Hooks of Dunlap, Tn. Grandfather Byron Stockwell of Palmer, Tn.
Dean is survived by his Mother Melinda Stockwell of Bertram, Tx; Brother Robby Stockwell of Chattanooga, Tn; Sister Marilyn Stockwell Fannin, brother-in-law Michael Fannin and niece Morgan Pursley of Chattanooga, Tn; Niece Samantha Conner & husband Philip Conner, great nephew and niece Brody and Ellie of Soddy Daisy,TN; The Fannin family of Cleveland, TN including niece Kailyn, nephew Chase & wife Ashley and great nephew Waylon; 3 cherished Aunts and Uncles and 7 cousins & their families in Texas; And his beloved cousins and their families in TN.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap, TN. The family will receive friends Saturday February 29, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST.
