Rev. Billy Ralph Layne, age 74, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at NHC Healthcare. He attended Dunlap Church of God and Ewtonville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Sue Layne; son, Richard A. Layne; brothers, Lee Austin Layne, Clyde "Junior" Layne, Jerry "Jughead" Layne; sister, Irene Layne Davis; father, Clyde Layne; mother, Mary Rutledge; step-father, Carroll "Spud" Rutledge.
He is survived by his sons, Billy Ralph Layne Jr (Cathy) and Jarett Leslie Layne (Angie); one granddaughter, Tiffany S. Layne; three great-grandchildren, Tinsley, Montrace "Bo", and Leland Layne; brothers, Willie Vernon "Red" Layne (Carol), Laverne, OH, Gene "Thumb" Layne (Jean), Whitwell, Don Layne (Connie), Whitwell, and Howard Rutledge; sisters, Ginger Layne Sims, Dunlap, Carol Rutledge Davis, Whitwell, Villa Rutledge Davis (Sammie), Whitwell, Norma Rutledge Kilgore, Palmer, Kathy Rutledge Shell (Paul), Murfreesboro.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Johnny Yeoman and Bro. Roy Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Bryant Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home 50 May Road, Dunlap, TN. The family will receive friends Thursday January 23, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST.
