Obituary of William Marshall Sitz
William "Tubby" Sitz, 87, of Whitwell, TN, passed through God's Gates on
Thursday, October 24, 2019, at a local health care facility. Tubby was a
member of Cumberland Mountain church of God, a long time employee of
Wheeland Foundry and a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He also
loved sports and fishing.
The son of the late Francis Benson, Martha Irene Rector Sitz, he was
also, preceded in death by an infant brother.
Tubby leaves his wife of 64 years, Shirley Rollins Sitz; daughter,
Dawanda Kirkendoll (Paul); grandson, Cory (Sheena) Pickett; great
grandsons, Shawn and Tank Bishop; brothers, Ray, John, Kenneth, Ralph,
and Butch Sitz; sisters, Ruby Carter and Ann Hood, several nieces,
nephews, and Sophie, his special little dog, to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.
CST from the chapel of Reed Funeral Home, with Ministers Ronnie Cookston
and Roy Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Whitwell Memorial
Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by The Sequatchie Valley Honor
Guard. The family will receive friends on Saturday October 26, 2019, from
2:00-8:00 p.m. CST. Online condolences can be made at
