Obituary of Jerry Lee Riggs

  Jerry Riggs, Sr., age 79, of Pikeville, TN, died Friday, September 20, 2019 at his home.  He attended Walden’s Ridge Baptist Church and was a lifelong farmer.  He retired after 33 years from Suburban Manufacturing.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Bertha Riggs; sisters, Mary Johnston, Betty Rohrscheib, Erma Jewel Bales; and brother, Charles “Buddy” Riggs.

   He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Leona Riggs of Pikeville; son, Jerry Riggs, Jr. of Pikeville; sisters, Barbara (John) Long of Harrison, Linda Kerley of Pikeville and Jean King of Dayton; brothers, Tommy Riggs of Pikeville and Roger (Jeannie) Riggs of Dayton; sister-in-law, Agnes (Cecil) Simpson and brother-in-law, Sanford (Margaret) Brewer, both of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. C.D.T. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Jewel and Rev. Jerry Levengood officiating.  Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. C.D.T..
