Obituary of William Franklin Sapp

  William Franklin “Bill” Sapp, age 60, of Davidson Road, Crossville, TN, died peacefully at his home on Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2019, after a lengthy battle with renal failure.  He exemplified true courage during many years of painful struggle.

   He was a partner in Valley Paving in Pikeville before working in the oil fields in Oklahoma.  When he returned to the area, he owned and operated Cold Springs Grocery during the 1980’s.  He also spent several years as a truck driver, but his true love was farming and raising cattle and English bulldogs.

   A Christian, he was of the Baptist faith, and was secure in his salvation.

   He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Franklin Sapp; and grandparents, Bill and Dixie Sapp, and Ervin and Macie Stewart.

   He is survived by his wife, Joy Farmer Sapp; daughter, Braiden Sapp; three sons, Billy Jack, Ben (Becca) and Bob Sapp, all of Crossville; two grandchildren, Baylor and Edith Sapp; loving mother, Irene (Bob) Foster; three sisters, Janet (Doyle) Ashburn and Ruth (Gary) Burton, all of Pikeville, and Carolyn (Dave) Culver of Jamestown, OH; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Funeral services will be held Friday, August 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel.  He will be buried next to his father in Brushy Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at reedfamilyfh.com. Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 1:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. CDT and Friday, August 30, 2019 from 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m..
