Obituary of Adele Ashburn

            Vera "Adele" Ashburn, 86, of Whitwell, TN, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Adele was born and raised in Brevard, NC, and moved to Chattanooga, TN, where she raised her family and worked for M&J and Pruett's Supermarkets.  She then transplanted to Florida to work for Publix Supermarket, where she eventually retired.  She recently moved back to Tennessee to be near her family as she fought a short term battle with breast cancer.  Adele was of the Baptist Faith.

            Adele was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Annie Clark Bagwell; son, Michael Ashburn; sister, Elaine Pridemore, of Florida and brother, Joe Bagwell, of Arkansas.

            Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Ashburn; son, Brian Ashburn, brother, Foster Bagwell, of Virginia; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

            Adele's family would like to extend a special Thanks to NHC Dunlap and Hearth Hospice for the quality and professional care given to her.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hearth Hospice, at 1800 Rossville Ave., Ste 114, Chattanooga, TN, 37408.

            Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. CST.  Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 1:00 until 8:00 P.M. CST, and from !0:00 until the time of the service on Saturday.
