Obituary of Walter Wilkie Cooley

     Walter W. Cooley, age 78, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, June 22, 2019. 

    He was a retiree of the United States Army having served 31 years as a Master Sergeant with three tours of duty in the Vietnam War.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Allen Cooley; father, Eschol Cooley; two brothers, Willie "Bud" Cooley and Jack Cooley, and three sisters, Geneva Hale, Pauline Johnson and Ruth Seals.

    He is survived by his wife, Ulker "Heather" Cooley, daughters, Claudia Cooley (Vinnie Forte) of Carneys Point, NJ and Sema Castagna (Jack Weatherlow) of Crossville, TN; son, Deniz Tezcan of Wilmington, DE; many loving family members and friends; and, of course, his four legged companion, Jodie.

    Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dennis Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Howard-Walker Cemetery with military honors.  Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.  Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. CDT..  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Walter's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS  66675-8517 or to the Cumberland County Animal Shelter, 782 East Lane, Crossville, TN  38555.
