Obituary of Joy Lynn Wallace

Joy Lynn Wallace born May 28, 1962, Sarasota, FL; deceased January 1, 2019, Jacksonville FL. The Wallace family moved to Jacksonville the summer of 1972.Joy remained a resident until her death. After graduation from Terry Parker High School she did some studies at Tallahassee Community Collage and Flordia Community Collage Jacksonville. Following her education, she became a very popular waitress at several restaurants in Jacksonville. This led her to operating her own catering business for about a year. Joy was married to Ray Burns, but later divorced. Their marriage gave birth to their daughter Samantha Joy Burns, who is now a senior at Englewood High School. In recent years, her sole-mate was Michael Duke whom she was living with at the time of her death. Her last year she put up a very brave fight for her life, struggling to overcome cancer but sadly did not win the fight. Friends from Arlington United Methodist were so faithful and caring in serving and providing needed transportation for Joy in her last year. Many thanks to Michael, her sole-mate, and the good friends of Arlington United Methodist for their loving-caring service. Memorial Service will be held Saturday June 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
