Obituary of Edgar Monroe Bayless
Edgar M. Bayless, age 72, of Pikeville, TN, died Thursday , March 28, 2019 at Erlanger Medical Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam, a commander of the VFW post 5033, and a member of the American Legion. Edgar was employed at Taft Youth Center for 35 years and served on the County Commission for 8 years. He enjoyed carpentry as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Edith Bayless; brothers Tony and Mark Bayless.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bayless, Pikeville; children, Edwina (Jeremy) Wilson, Spencer, TN, Nathan Bayless, Pikeville; 2 step daughters, Melissa McMillen, Spencer, TN, Misty McMillen, Pikeville; 3 step grandchildren, Colton and Morgan McMillen, Gabi Lawhon; sisters Sharon (Freddy) George, Pikeville, Artie Bayless, Pikeville, Gretchen (Andy) Anderson, Nashville, TN, Sheila (Jim) Hayes, Smyrna, TN; brother, Dennis (Karla) Bayless, Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Gene Brock officiating. Burial will be in Malloy Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. CST .
