Obituary of Zola Ivedell Wooden
Zola Ivedell (Atkinson) Wooden, age 88, of Pikeville, TN, flew to her heavenly home on December 1, 2018, in Elizabethtown, KY. She was surrounded by many of her loving family and will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, loving heart, and welcoming spirit. Zola was rooted in her faith and family and enjoyed planting flowers in her garden, feeding hundreds of hummingbirds every summer, cooking for anyone who found their way to her table, and serving coffee to the masses. She labored beside her husband over many harvests and found immeasurable joy in raising eight children. She loved every single one of them and her "GRANDS".
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Arvil Dee Wooden; daughters, Barbara Faye Wooden and Mildred Dianne Wooden; grandchildren, Lucas Lee, Casey Lynn Wooden and Joseph Charles Minnick, III; parents, Rev. James and Flossie (Green) Atkinson; and brothers, Robert, Odell, Sam and Bernie Atkinson.
She is survived by her children, Bernice (Frank) Anderson of Elizabethtown, KY, Terry (Janice) Wooden of Pikeville, TN, Roger (Shirl) Wooden of Pikeville, TN, Richard Wooden of Pikeville, TN, Margaret (Dwight) Lewis of Dunlap, TN, Kathy (Monte) Lee of Pikeville, TN, Joyce (Carson) Camp of Dunlap, TN and Teresa (Jay) Minnick of Greeneville, TN; grandchildren, Mark (Clare) Anderson, Andy (Sheila) Anderson, Shannon Anderson, Barry (Tera) Wooden, Aaron (Amy) Wooden, Calvin (Angie) Wooden, Tonya (Stacy) Turner, Angie (Bucky) Raper, Melissa (Wayne) Wells, Travis Lee, Casandra (Dylan) Younglove, Cameron (Brooke) Camp and Brooke (Chris) Green; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Wyatt, Dalton, Kyle, Kellee, Austin, Kaitee, Chandler, Kerrigan, Annie (Jamison), Logan, Caine, Amelia and Natalie; great-great grandchildren, Scarlett and Lucas; and brother, Leonard (JohnnieMae) Atkinson of Winterhaven, FL.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Lee, Rev. Andy Smith and James Daggett officiating. Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT and Thursday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. CDT.
