Obituary of William Brooks Austin

     William “BULL” Austin, age 37, of Dunlap, TN passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Erlanger Healthcare Center. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Congregational Methodist Church. He was a  Firefighter with the Dunlap Volunteer Fire Department, member of IBEW Local 175, employed by Service Electric Co. He loved to ride his Harley and four wheeler with his friends. BULL always had a positive outlook on life even through his battle with Leukemia. He loved his work, playing his guitar, and the outdoors. He especially loved his oncologist, Dr. Matthew Graham,  Kyle Casey AGNP and their staff, and the  Erlanger nurses at Central 7 West.

     He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, David Whitlow, Ray Austin, and R.J. Cagle; uncle, Jack Combs.

    He is survived by the light of his life, son, Jameson Ray (Jameson’s mother, Samantha Kilgore); parents, Cornel and Nancie Austin; brother, Brandon Austin; grandparents, Odell Whitlow, and Wanda Austin Cagle; aunts, Gwen (Eddie) Hobbs, Melanie Combs, Teresa (Jerry) Carlton, Cynthia (Marvin) Price, all of Dunlap; uncle, Ray (Sandi) Austin, Tucson, AZ; several cousins and friends.

     Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Cagle-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-8:00 p.m. CDT.
