Obituary of Helen Hennessee Johnston
Helen H. Johnston, age 79, of Algood, TN, passed away, July 15, 2018 at NHC Healthcare, Cookeville, TN. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sparta, TN and also a member of Gideon Auxiliary Sparta Camp where she served as Secretary and Treasurer. She was also a member of Theophilus Sunday School Class where she served as class secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lila Hennessee.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil W. Johnston, two sons, J. Darryl (Mary) Richards and Jon M. (Maria) Richards; step-son, Ray (Julia) Johnston; step-daughter, Cynthia (Bud) Johnston Douglas; grandchildren, Katie Douglas, Rachel Johnston (Alex) Sanchez, J. Daniel Richards, Adam Richards, Joshua (Ariana) Richards, Justin Richards, Jonathan (Rachel) Richards, Ellen Johnston, Emily Douglas, Anna Richards (Caleb), Jack Johnston; great-granddaughter, Lila Richards; sister, Sue Billingsley; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm CDT at First Baptist Church, Sparta, TN with Pastor Brad Walker and Bro. Tom Strong officiating. Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery, Dunlap, TN. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 17, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. CDT at First Baptist Church, Sparta, TN.
