Obituary of Billie Joe Cook
Billie Joe Cook, age 83, of Signal Mountain, TN, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Erlanger North Hospital. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and served as a deacon. Mr. Cook was a member and Pastmaster of Signal Mountain Lodge #758 F&A.M. and 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was retired from House-Hasson Hardware Company and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee and Elizabeth Cook; two grandchildren, Cheryl Denise Cook and Christopher Lee Cook; Sister Betty Ruth Cook
He is survived by his wife, Irene Cook; daughter, Kay Roden; two sons, Dennis (Maria) Cook and Tony (Connie) Cook, all of Signal Mountain; eight grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Martin, Powell, TN and Belba Phillips, Knoxville, TN; brother, Gene (Azalee) Cook, Clinton, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. EDT at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Bro. Rocky Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery Monday, April 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. EDT with a Masonic Service and Military Honors to follow. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Saturday 3:00-8:00 p.m. EDT at the funeral home. Mr. Cook will lie in state Sunday 5:00-6:00 p.m. EDT at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
