Obituary of Gennalee M Daniel
~~Gennalee Daniel, age 81, of Pikeville, Tennessee died Thursday evening, July 20, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was a member of Frostbite House of Prayer.
She was a devout Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Through her faith, love and compassion for others, she humbly prayed for all. She was a homemaker, quilter, gardener, and grew flowers. She was active in church as an adult Sunday School teacher, singer and mentor to many. She would never compromise what she knew was best for us no matter what it cost her. She taught us to love and respect God and his teachings. This was the most enduring and endearing gift she had to give us.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonas Daniel; parents, Callie and Bobbie Harris; brothers, Edward and Robert Harris; and grandchild, Jason Daniel.
She is survived by seven children, Yvonne (Donnie) Swafford of Dayton, TN, Karen (Kenny) Chastain of Ooltewah, TN, Waymon (Sherry) Daniel of Pikeville, TN, Paul (Judy) Daniel of Spring City, TN, Rhonda (John) Ware of Hixson, TN, Calvin (Sharlene) Daniel of Pikeville, TN and Darryl (Charee) Daniel of Pikeville, TN; seventeen grandchildren, Kristal Robbins, Ashley Madewell, Nikki Lynch, Meggan Haas, Jason Daniel, Andrea Poore, Amy Smith, Joseph Daniel, Kimberly Gray, Kelly Ware, Megan Osbourn, Tyler Daniel, Cameron Daniel, Abby Daniel, Samantha Dishman, Caleb Daniel and Seth Daniel; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Dillard of Dayton, TN and Sharon Lounsberry of Spring City, TN; six brothers, Hollis Harris and Randall Harris of Pikeville, TN; Wendall Harris, Richard Harris, Jerry Harris and Dwain Harris of Dayton, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday at 12:00 p.m. CDT at Frostbite House of Prayer with Rev. Paul Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Winnie Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. The arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT at the funeral home and Monday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. CDT at Frostbite House of Prayer.
