James Rainey, age 78, of Pikeville died Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Ricky Rainey; his parents, Cleveland and Ada Rainey; and a brother, Chester Rainey.
Surviving him are his loving wife of 52 years, Josie Rainey; daughter, Elaine (Wayne) Underwood, Pikeville; son, Harold Rainey, Pikeville; step-children, Calvin (Karen) Hankins, Spencer, Johnny Ray Hankins, Pikeville, Evalene Summers, Dunlap, Cathy (Daryl) Moffett, Spencer, Annette (Terry) Johnson, Pikeville; five grandchildren, Leah (Spencer) Johnson, Kadie (Brent) Buck, Lauren (Payton) Miller, Zachary (Haley) Underwood, Ethan Underwood; five great-grandchildren; sister, Pamela Russell, Pikeville; brother, Jackie Rainey, Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, July 16, at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Rainey-Dill Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Friday, July 15, from 2:00-9:00 p.m. CDT.
