Doris Jackson, age 87, of Pikeville died Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Erlanger Medical Center. She was a member of Pikeville United Methodist Church for 60 years, a member of the Home Demonstration Club and awarded Woman of the Year. She also served as Treasurer of the Bledsoe County Senior Center.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bedford Jackson; parents, William and Blanche Fyler; and brothers, Carl and Bill Fyler.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Jackson of Crossville; Laura "Oodie" (Danny) Smith of Pikeville; son, Jim (Kim) Jackson of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Kristin (Jamie) Wyatt, Chad Jackson, Mackenzie and Addison Smith; great-grandsons, Natheniel and Carter Wyatt, Aydan Billingsley; great-granddaughter, Cassidy Wyatt; sisters, Beverly Steitz of Kansas and Joyce Buchholz of California; brother, Ken Fyler of Kansas; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Douthat officiating. Burial will be in Pikeville Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. CST.
