Obituary of Glendol Ray Rains

Glendol Ray Rains, age 65, of Pikeville, passed away Tuesday, September 22, at his home. He had battled cancer for the past two years. He was born April 18, 1950, and attended Lusk Elementary School and Bledsoe Co. High School. Glendol was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. He was also a Mason, a member of Dunlap Lodge #693 F.&A.M., and a founding member of Lusk Volunteer Fire Dept. Glendol had a big heart and helped many people. He loved to work on the farm, be outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Glendol was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Amos Austin Rains; grandparents, Alfred and Maude Rains, Edd and Bessie Walker; and special uncle Charles Rains.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Carol Harwood Rains; son, Chad Austin (Heather) Rains; daughter, Penny (David) Tucker; three grandchildren, Bryce and Bryna Tucker, and Justin Layne; two brothers, Johnny and Joel B. (Deanna) Rains; mother, Betty Rains; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and a host of friends.
Services will be Friday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Minister T.A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Collier Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements made by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. CDT.
