Obituary of Myrtle Lee Burgess

Myrtle Burgess, age 78, of Pikeville, went home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2015 in a Sparta, TN hospital. Myrtle was a devoted member of New Hope The Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Nellie Brewer; two brothers, Hubert and Leslie Brewer.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her family: two daughters, Brenda (Don) Evans, of Pikeville, Barbie Walker, Crossville; one son, Joe (Tina) Burgess, Dayton; four granddaughters, Shawna Walker, Samantha Walker, Melanie (Justin) Brady, Heather (Dwayne) Reel; two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Bella Reel; one brother, James (Janet) Brewer; and a sister-in-law, Burma Brewer; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Services will be held Friday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Brothers Eric Wood, Barry Whitaker, and Roger Pennycuff officiating. Burial will be in Beach Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. CDT, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
