Obituary of William Awdley Miller

William Awdley Miller, age 76, born November 17, 1938, passed away Friday afternoon March 13, 2015. He lived most of his life on Signal Mountain except for the three years he served in the United States Army. He worked for 20 years managing three stores for Miller Brothers in Chattanooga. During his retirement years he loved visiting with family and friends.
Awdley is preceded in death by his parents, Vernie and Christine Miller; sister, Vernice Smith; brother, Myron Miller.
He is survived by three daughters, Shannon Miller, Cheryl Wineland, both of Panama, OK, and Kim Garner, Sherwood, TN; four sons, Kenny Miller, Signal Mountain, Ricky Miller, Ringgold, GA, Dale Grant, Warrior, AL, and David Grant, Dunlap; two sisters, Joyce Stewart and Winonna Pikus, both of Signal Mountain; two brothers, Ivan Miller, Signal Mountain and Edwin Miller, Vero Beach, FL; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Friends and family are welcome to come to the service and pay their respects.
