Mr. Richard M. Hensley, of Spencer, passed away January 5, 2015 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served in the Vietnam Conflict.
Mr. Hensley was born September 4, 1945 in Monterey, TN to the late Earl and Bessie (Brown) Hensley; also preceding him in death were two brothers, J.R. and Don Hensley, and one sister, Jean Hamlin.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca (Simmons) Hensley, of Spencer; one daughter, Shanon (Terry) Howard, Spencer; one son, Brian (Wendy) Hensley, Spencer; two granddaughters, Alli Howard and Kaylee Hensley, Spencer; one goddaughter, Kristy (Geof) Dyer and girls, Spencer; two brothers, Leroy (Bonnie) Hensley and Jim (Dorothy) Hensley, both of Spencer; three sisters, Marie Looper, Spencer, Mary McBroom, Cookeville; Maxine (Marvin) Lewis, Spencer; one sister-in-law, Patricia Hensley, Spencer; several nephews, nieces, and friends also survive.
Services will be Friday, January 9, 2015 at 1pm CST in the funeral home chapel. Burial in Graveyard Ridge Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday 4-9pm CST.
