Daniel T. Higdon, Sr., age 71 of Crossville, died Friday, December 26, 2014. He was a member of Vandever Baptist Church. Daniel was a retired United States Army Veteran, where he served in the Vietnam Conflict and Operation Desert Storm. He was retired from the Bledsoe Correctional Complex.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Willie Higdon and sister, Rebecca Faye Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Higdon, of Crossville; sons, Daniel T. (Jessica) Higdon, Jr., of Dunlap, Jonathan (Amie) Higdon, Crossville; daughters Tammy (Avery) Watson, Pikeville, Deanna (Tony) Davis, Georgia, Joanie (Jimmy) Davis, Spencer; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; mother, Josephine Higdon, Dunlap; brother, Jerry Higdon, Whitwell; sisters, Glendon Lance, Tracy City, Jean (Gene) Layne, Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, December 29, 2014 at 1pm CST in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-9pm CST, and Sunday 9am-9pm.
