Wallace Barker, age 89, of Signal Mt., TN died Tuesday November 11, 2008 at his home. He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the United States Army, fought in 5 major battles, worked as a farmer and saw miller most of his life and also worked 13 years at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, member of the rail splitters. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Hall; great-grandson Hunter Hubbs, parents Henry & Ethel Barker; brothers, Standifer, Lewis, Sam Wilson Barker; sister, Beatrice May Hobbs. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorothy Barker; granddaughters, Marsha (Marty) Hubbs, Lauren and Jessica Hall; 6 great-grandchildren; son-in-law and daughter-in-law Billy Joe and Kathy Hall; 2 sisters, Arbutus (Carlyle) Bryant and Trudy Williams; brother, Burnette (Rena) Barker; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Terry Barker officiating. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery. And Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
