Harold Benton Blevins, age 75, of Dunlap, TN went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning November 9, 2008. He attended New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a retired farmer and he served on Tennessee Farm Bureau and Sequatchie Farmers Co-op boards for many years, He was Elder at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church and later Deacon at East Valley Baptist, He touched the life of everyone he met, He had love for Gospel Music and took advantage of every opportunity to sing and share his love for the Lord with everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Blevins and parents, Riley & Lydia Blevins.
He is survived by three daughters, Donna (James) Condra, Rebecca (Eddie) French and Elaine (Mark) Rutherford all of Dunlap; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Knight, Cleveland and Rose (Ernest) Smith, Dunlap; brother, Glen (Peggy) Blevins, Dunlap; uncle, R.O. Jewell Blevins; several nieces and nephews.
In- lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation and Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Marvin McClendon and Rev. Justin Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.
Arrangements by Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. CST.
